Brian Hill had a good game, but he could not keep the Sandy Springs Spartans from falling, 5-4, to the Clearwater Seagulls at Chapman Field. The Sandy Springs first baseman was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. The Seagulls raised their record to 71-43.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Clearwater second baseman Jeff Hewitt, facing Victor Crawford, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Seagulls the 5-4 win.
