Late Rally by Spartans Locks Up 4-1 Win
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Sandy Springs Spartans and Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters.

Pitcher Raul Abalos was rock solid in helping the Sandy Springs Spartans beat the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 4-1. Mike Hampton was the winner in relief. His record is now 6-7. The losing pitcher was Wu-shiun Kim.

Sandy Springs used a timely hit from Kevin DiMaio to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Spartans ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

Said Niagara Falls manager Aidan Uren: "You just have to tip your cap sometimes."

The Spartans raised their record to 61-52.
