Rockets Get One-Run Win at Riverside
|
Riverside got a terrific performance from right fielder Ryan Schulz, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kelowna Rockets. Kelowna won the Red Bull Stadium contest, 7-6. Schulz was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Kelowna has now won 4 straight.
Kelowna took a 7-6 lead on Chase Gainey's 54th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Gainey hit in the top of the ninth, left Riverside pitcher Willie Chaparro shaking his head.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Gainey.
