Silicon Valley Dismisses Marysville, 6-2
|
Behind the bravura of first baseman Steve Miller, the Silicon Valley Hackers topped the Marysville Monarchs by the score of 6-2. Miller went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Hackers. Mançio Madrra got the win, improving to 4-2. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Hector Lopez earned save number 5 this season.
Silicon Valley took a 3-0 lead on Miller's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Tony Nunes in the top of the sixth, propelled Silicon Valley to the win.
Miller called the win "a collective effort."
At 74-40, the Hackers are currently first in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League.
