Wilfredo Velez, who is tied for 7th in the RCL in innings pitched with 49.2, had a strong outing for the Dallas Texans against the Chicago Eclipse at Metroplex Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. Dallas pitcher Chris Nugent earned the win, hiking his record to 5-1. Jason Beeks suffered the loss. The Texans move to 19-18 with the win, while the Eclipse drop to 17-21.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jose Leyba in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Jason Beeks to win the game for Dallas. The home crowd went nuts.

"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Leyba said.
