Marysville Defeats Beaumont, 3-2

The umbrellas came out during the Marysville-Beaumont contest at Drillers Stadium.
The Marysville Monarchs picked up a win at Drillers Stadium, courtesy of Bill Montes. The right-hander helped his team stop the Beaumont Drillers, 3-2. Mark Huffer recorded the save, making him 21 for 28.
Marysville used the timely hitting of Steven Carson to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Monarchs on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Marysville manager Michael Fitzgerald applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The Monarchs sit in 5th place in the RCL AA Gene Mauch Division with a record of 43-54.
