Victory Over Rams Takes Marysville to 68-45
|
Eiichi Kawasaki left his imprint on the 5-2 Marysville win against the Frisco Rams. Kawasaki, who is rated as the 13th best prospect by BNN, was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Marysville reliever Brad Leys picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Mike Gallion took the loss. Aaron Lentz, credited with the save, is now 17 for 17 in save opportunities.
Kawasaki was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Marysville. With the game tied in the bottom of the second inning, Kawasaki, the 17th overall pick in the 2043 draft, had a clutch at-bat. That's when he hit a 2-run home run to give the Monarchs a 2-0 lead.
"We'll savor this win," Kawasaki told the Marysville Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
Marysville is now riding a 3-game win streak.
