The Silicon Valley Hackers beat the Murraysville Peacocks, 8-4, with major props going to third baseman Peter Johnston. On the day, Johnston hit 3 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring three times for the Hackers. Chris Burton got the win, improving to 7-6. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Jeremy Poholsky got the save, the 8th for him this season.

With Silicon Valley leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh, Johnston hit a fastball from Freddy Hernandez for a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Hackers ahead, 8-4.

"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Johnston told the Silicon Valley Observer.

Silicon Valley goes to 54-41. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
