The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats overcame a good performance by Roaring River designated hitter Francisco Cortez to knock off Roaring River, 16-15, in 13 innings at The Coffee Grinder. Cortez went 3 for 6 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Ryan Woller got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Roaring River is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 23 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Nick Reed in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a solo home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Felix Hernandez to win the game for Buzzard's Bay. The home crowd went nuts.
