Evanston turned a good effort from starter Justin Montana into a win over the Boston Whitecaps at FUBU Field. The Bishops won the game, 7-2. In 8 innings, Montana surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. The TML AA Jim Leyland Division-leading Bishops have a record of 63-31.

Jason Shannon had a big 3-run home run for the Bishops in the bottom of the third inning. With Evanston leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Todd Neveau and swatted a home run to center. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bishops ahead, 5-0.

"Being in first place now is good," said Shannon. "Being in first at the end of the season is better. That's our goal."
