Monarchs Squelch Lumberjacks Offense in Shutout Win
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

With designated hitter Sam Howell leading the charge, the Marysville Monarchs defeated the Adirondack Lumberjacks, 4-0, at Mitts Fieldhouse. Howell went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Jose Vergara was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-3. The losing pitcher was Brady Metro.

In the bottom of the fifth, Jesus Ochoa delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Marysville catcher hit a 2-run single, putting the Monarchs in front, 4-0.

Ochoa attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."

The Monarchs saw their record improve to 42-53.
