The Madison Beehive got a superb performance from pitcher Fei-hsien Xun. Still, it wasn't enough to beat DeKalb. The Cornhuskers won the game, 6-2. In spite of the loss, Xun was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Tom Bendorf, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3.1 innings. DeKalb improves to 64-45 with the win. They lead their division by 4½ games.
A key at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the batter, Dakota Medwid, hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 3-2, DeKalb, and helped them go on to win.
Medwid called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
