There was never a dull moment in an extra-length game between the Buffalo Bison and the Walnut Creek Warriors.

Brad Helmick pitched a gem to lead Buffalo to victory over the Walnut Creek Warriors, 2-1, in 10 innings. Buffalo reliever Steve Hoefling, who finished 5th in the TML in saves with 32 last year, was credited with the win. His record goes to 4-4. Ray Clemens took the loss for Walnut Creek.

Buffalo used the timely hitting of Chris Bridgeman to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bison on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Helmick after the game.

The 4th-place Bison improved to 21-23.
