Black Bears Shut Out Wolverines
|
Fraser Valley starter Roy Somersall pitched effectively against the Wichita Wolverines at Howling Park. The right-hander led his team to a 2-0 win. Somersall, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. The Black Bears raised their record to 55-52.
Fraser Valley third baseman Joe Huber laid a blow when he belted a solo home run in the top of the first. It was his 13th home run of the season. With it, the Black Bears took a 1-0 lead.
Somersall called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
