Warriors Beaten By Earthquakes, 5-4

In a close game at Golden Gate Park, the San Francisco Earthquakes edged the Walnut Creek Warriors, 5-4. San Francisco first baseman Mike Young stood apart with his performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The third-place Earthquakes now have a win-loss record of 20-18.
With San Francisco leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Young hit a sinker from Marcel Antoine for a solo home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Earthquakes ahead, 5-3.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Walnut Creek manager Miguel de la Rosa.
