The Kelowna Rockets picked up a win, 4-1, over the Roaring River Steelheads at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. Jerry Baez led the charge. The Remedios, Villa Clara native was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for Kelowna. The save went to Bill Douglas, his 11th this season. The 5th-place Rockets now have a record of 47-60.

With Kelowna leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Baez hit a fastball from Steve Pisarek for a solo home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Rockets ahead, 2-0.

In postgame remarks, Baez hailed his team's "grit."
