Thanks in large part to designated hitter Griffin Matte, the Clearwater Seagulls beat the Carson City Mustang, 7-1. Matte went 2-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The third-place Seagulls go to 43-48.

Early in the game, Matte had a 3-run home run for Clearwater. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Seagulls on top, 3-0.

Matte attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
