Spokane Listless in 9-1 Loss
|
The Wauwatosa Indians got a stellar effort from pitcher Justin Martin, helping Wauwatosa score a win over the visiting Spokane Bulldogs, 9-1. In 6.1 innings, Martin surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Wauwatosa is 53-36 and Spokane, with the loss, 32-58.
The Bulldogs had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Indians going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old third baseman Jose Arredondo came to the plate. Arredondo hit a 2-run home run on a 3-1 fastball from Spokane hurler John Felder. It was Arredondo's 4th home run of the year.
"They took it to us," said Spokane manager .
