Rollers Stumble Again, Lose, 7-1
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers topped the Atlantic City Rollers, 7-1, the lion's share of the credit going to designated hitter Mitch Barrett. On the day, Barrett went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Cornhuskers. Ben Volpe, who is tied for 3rd in the TAA in holds with 7, picked up the win in relief. Hector Moreno took the loss for Atlantic City. Atlantic City is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from right fielder Jaden White. For the game, White went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave DeKalb a 2-0 lead.
