The Marysville Monarchs stifled the Kelowna Rockets, 4-2, at Mitts Fieldhouse. Marco Moreno had his hitting cap on. He went 2-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for Marysville. Marysville reliever Carlos Rivera picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Corey MacIndoe took the loss. The win has Marysville at 33-68.
Moreno had a timely hit for Marysville in the bottom of the eighth. With Marysville trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-0 curveball into a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season, making it 4-2, Marysville.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Moreno told the Marysville Chronicle. "Whatever it takes."
