DeKalb Absorbs 9-5 Loss to Madison
The Madison Beehive trumped the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 9-5, at The Hive. Madison third baseman Eduardo Valencia was terrific. He went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Carlos Canales, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 5-5. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jose Aguillar.

Madison got a big at-bat from Matthews, North Carolina native Adam Ruma, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Beehive ahead, 7-0.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Ruma said.

Madison now sports a record of 28-73.
