Rams Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Sandy Springs Spartans got a superb performance from pitcher Guillermo Castorena, but the Frisco Rams still won the game, 4-3. Castorena was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Frisco is now 49-51, while Sandy Springs is 53-45.
Frisco catcher Logan DiPirro had a key at-bat for the Rams in the bottom of the 11th inning. Facing right-hander Bill Acheson, DiPirro hit a walk-off solo home run. It put Frisco in front, 4-3. For the day, DiPirro was 1-1 with a home run.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Brent Garbie, the Frisco manager.
