Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Jacksonville Pilots and Montreal Jazz.

Jacksonville left-hander B.J. Tourtelotte helped his team edge Montreal by the score of 1-0. Tourtelotte kept the opposing lineup in check. Hisham Kontar finished to wrap up his 9th save.

Had Miguel Ruiz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Ruiz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Pilots.

"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Ruiz told the Jacksonville Citizen.

The Pilots go to 22-15, putting them second in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division.
