Miller Helps Storm Troopers Run Win Streak to 3
|
San Antonio and Marysville duked it out at Mitts Fieldhouse and the Storm Troopers came out victorious.
The San Antonio Storm Troopers defeated the Marysville Monarchs, 7-5, at Mitts Fieldhouse today. Leading the charge for San Antonio was center fielder Bill Miller. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Jim Shaffner picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 7-6. Trent Gahan, credited with the save, is now 1 for 5 in save opportunities.
One consequential at-bat came in the top of the first. With a runner on 1st, the batter, Jace Walthall, hit a 2-run home run. It made the score 2-0, San Antonio, and helped them go on to win.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Miller said.
San Antonio bumps their record to 53-49 with the win.
