Clearwater first baseman Chris Handley played a vital role in his team's 8-5 conquest of Kelowna. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Clearwater. Joe Sargent closed out the game, earning his 2nd save. Clearwater is now 39-45, Kelowna 44-42.

Bill Sawyer had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and the bases loaded, the Clearwater third baseman hit a 2-run single. That put the Seagulls in front, 3-2.

"To get where we want to as a team, we all have to do things out of our comfort zone," Sawyer told the Clearwater Citizen.
