Starting pitcher Chris Roberts pitched well enough to help the Fraser Valley Black Bears beat the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 5-4. The Black Bears saw their record improve to 58-40.

Brad Downey drew 1 walk for Fraser Valley. The 27-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joey Lizotte. It was his 47th RBI of the season.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Roberts. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
