Jeff Stephens, who is tied for 2nd in the TAA in strikeouts with 119, pitched well, but the Sandy Springs Spartans still fell short, losing, 4-3, to the Madison Beehive at The Coliseum. Ben Sylvester, now 3-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The last-place Beehive improved to 34-61.

Madison used the timely hitting of Jack Bainter to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Beehive on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Bainter called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
