Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Hawks
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman Junnosuke Hida, the Boise Hawks defeated the Riverside Red Bulls, 4-3. Hida was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks for the Hawks. Raul Parada, credited with the win, is now 4-4. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. With the win, Boise has a record of 42-53. Riverside falls to 58-36.
The Hawks got an important contribution from shortstop Ed Vega, who in the bottom of the tenth hit a 2-2 changeup into right for a run-scoring single. It was his 73rd hit of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 4-3.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Boise manager Tom Becker. "It's usually not just one thing."
