Thanks in large part to left fielder Cesar Rodriguez, the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats beat the Beaumont Drillers, 9-7. Rodriguez went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Buzzard's Bay sits in third place in the RCL AA Gene Mauch Division at 46-49.

William Bowman had a big bases-clearing double for the Beetlecats in the top of the second inning. With Buzzard's Bay leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Antonio Barona and swatted a double to center. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beetlecats ahead, 5-0.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Buzzard's Bay manager Dorian Payne.
