The Cairo Pharaohs stopped the Hawaii Honu, 6-3, at Aloha Stadium. The Pharaohs got a big game from Shane Ewing, who went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Cameron Mutton, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 3 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 3-1. The victory puts Cairo at 15-22.
Cairo took a 6-2 lead on Ewing's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Steve Simons in the top of the seventh, propelled Cairo to the win.
Cairo manager Johnny Vallance was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
