A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Houghton Gremlins and Eagle Rock Ridge Runners.

The Eagle Rock Ridge Runners could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Nestor Aguilar into a win. Instead, the Houghton Gremlins prevailed, 6-3. Aguilar threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The win was credited to Bobby Gilmore in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Brian Clendenny took the loss. Chris Wethington locked down his 8th save.

Josh Neuner came through with a big-time hit for Houghton. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Eagle Rock skipper Paco Berroa.

Houghton is now 20-17, Eagle Rock 17-20.
