Both teams had their chances, but the Fraser Valley Black Bears eventually prevailed at The Stetson Bowl.
The Fraser Valley Black Bears got a stellar performance from pitcher Antonio Jauregui, who handcuffed the Rock River offense en route to a 1-0 win at The Stetson Bowl. Earning his 10th save of the year was Alex Marquez.
With runs few and far between, the Black Bears had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Fraser Valley came in the bottom of the sixth inning, when left fielder Daniel Staub Jr. delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Steve Georgiadis and made the score 1-0, Black Bears. Staub Jr. was 2-3 with 2 singles.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Staub Jr. said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
At 49-43, the Black Bears find themselves in 4th place in the TMLAA Bruce Bochy Division.
