The Wichita Wolverines overcame a good performance by Madison left fielder Andy Martinez to knock off Madison, 8-6, at The Hive. Martinez was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Alex Gonzalez earned the win to go to 4-4. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. Wichita is now 34-56. Madison is 32-59.
Colby McAbee hit a 2-run triple off Enrique Cuellar in the top of the first, which put the Wolverines in front, 2-0. McAbee had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
