Big Day by Schanzer Ignites Bulldogs Win
|
The Spokane Bulldogs bested the Rock River Rats, 7-5, at The Kennel. Chris Schanzer was named player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Oscar Romero got credit for the win, improving to 6-1. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 7 innings. The Bulldogs now have a record of 46-43.
With runs few and far between, the Bulldogs had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Spokane came in the bottom of the sixth inning, when shortstop Matt Wilson delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Matt Hoffman and made the score 2-1, Bulldogs. Wilson was 2-4 with 2 singles.
