Purkis Helps Rockets Defeat Lumberjacks, 15-9
The Kelowna Rockets outscored the Adirondack Lumberjacks, 15-9. Among the hitting stars was second baseman Scott Purkis. Purkis was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 6. With the win, Kelowna goes to 42-36, while the Lumberjacks fall to 50-25.

Joe Ranieri had a big 2-run double for the Rockets in the top of the fifth inning. With Kelowna leading 8-7 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Théo Sauvage and swatted a double to left. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockets ahead, 10-7.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Purkis.
