Drillers Pocket 5-4 Win Against Roaring River
Beaumont beat Roaring River at Drillers Stadium, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to designated hitter Joe Phelan. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. George Romero got credit for the win, improving to 2-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. David Frisk closed the door for Beaumont, picking up his 6th save of the year.

Phelan had a timely hit for Beaumont in the bottom of the seventh. With Beaumont trailing 4-3, he turned a 3-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Beaumont.

"I was a little disappointed," said Roaring River manager Mike Bouffard. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

The Steelheads, at 28-49, have lost 4 straight games.
