Drillers Earn 5-2 Home Win
Beaumont pitcher Brian Taylor did his part in helping his team beat the Marysville Monarchs, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Taylor got the win, improving to 8-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Drillers go to 45-32, putting them second in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League.

The Drillers got a big at-bat from right fielder Chris Lacenaire. For the game, Lacenaire was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Beaumont a 4-1 lead.

In postgame comments to the Beaumont Gazette, Lacenaire said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
