Evanston pitcher Willis Paulino did his part in helping his team defeat the Windsor Royals, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Paulino, now 9-4, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The third-place Bishops go to 50-37.
It could have been a different outcome for Evanston, had it not been for Tom Janes, the 24-year old shortstop . Janes contributed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put Evanston up, 2-0.
"Willis has got a slow heartbeat," said Evanston manager Harold Planter. "He doesn't panic or anything."
