Armada Edged, 6-4, by Kansas City
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes licked the Quebec Armada, 6-4, in 12 innings. Victor Ayala deserved much of the credit. The first baseman was 2 for 6 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Tornadoes. The winner was Alex Alvarez in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Steve Ferris took the loss. Fred Poole was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Had Ayala not come through in the top of the 12th, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Ayala hit a 2-run single. The Tornadoes took the lead, 6-4, and never looked back.
Kansas City manager Todd Belcher called it "a good, solid win."
At 20-16, the Tornadoes claim 4th place in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division.
