Multi-HR Game for Elliott in 13-6 Win
|
A nice crowd turned out to see the Madison Beehive and Wichita Wolverines clash at Howling Park.
The Madison Beehive knocked off the Wichita Wolverines, 13-6, at Howling Park. Greg Elliott, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Madison won. The second baseman was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 5 runs and drove in 5. Christian Meza picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 5 earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 3-1.
Takahiro Nakano contributed an important at-bat in the top of the second. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat that helped send Madison to the win.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Nakano.
The Beehive now own a record of 49-34.
