Bulldogs Squelch Cornhuskers Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Spokane Bulldogs bested the DeKalb Cornhuskers by a score of 5-0, with second baseman Tim Prohaska getting the main credit. On the day, Prohaska was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Bulldogs. Victor Esquivel got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 2 hits and no runs, while striking out 5 and walking 4. At 43-42, the Bulldogs are currently last in the TMLAA Bruce Bochy Division.
Prohaska's nice game included a clutch run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla.
