The home team gave the crowd some walk-off drama.

In a high-scoring contest between Fraser Valley and Beaumont, left fielder Matt Weld was a difference-maker. Weld, who is tied for 10th in the TAA with a .936 OPS, distinguished himself in the 9-8 Fraser Valley win. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The 'W' lifts Fraser Valley's record to 51-34.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Fraser Valley trailing 8-7, Weld jumped on a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Bill Gosse and hit a 2-run home run to right. With one swing, the Black Bears had a walk-off win.

"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Weld said.
