DeKalb turned a good effort from starter Joey Lizotte into a win over the Pacifica Shamrocks at McCormick Field. The Cornhuskers won the game, 8-0. The winning pitcher was Lizotte, now 1-2. He tossed 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 2. The losses continue to mount for Pacifica, which has now dropped 7 in a row.

DeKalb won the game in part because of Frank Torres. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cornhuskers ahead, 4-0. For the game, Torres had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Lizotte.
