Bartoletti hits 2 home runs in Cornhuskers Win
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from John Bartoletti, the DeKalb Cornhuskers defeated the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 4-3. Bartoletti hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Cornhuskers. Kyle Northup earned the win for DeKalb. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing no earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 7-0. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Ted Gray.
DeKalb took a 4-1 lead on Bartoletti's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Luis Sida in the top of the eighth, propelled DeKalb to the win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla.
DeKalb's record now stands at 49-34, placing them first in the TMLAA Bruce Bochy Division.
