Black Bears Turn Back Silicon Valley, 4-3
|
Fraser Valley starter Wayne Balaski pitched well against the Silicon Valley Hackers at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Balaski yielded 3 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-7. The Black Bears, at 49-34, sit in second place in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division.
Andy Walsh came through with a big-time hit for Fraser Valley. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Walsh told reporters after the game: "Close wins always feel extra good."
