Beaumont starter Mike Downey pitched well against the Pacifica Shamrocks at Drillers Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 10 innings. Beaumont is in last place in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League with a record of 25-46.

The Drillers got a clutch hit from designated hitter Sergio Chavez. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Drillers.

"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Pacifica manager Pedro Mercado.
