Black Bears Deal Murraysville 7-5 Defeat
No one was more impactful than Gary Russell in the 7-5 Fraser Valley win over Murraysville. Russell, who is tied for 9th in the TAA with a .421 on-base percentage, went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Fraser Valley reliever Tyler Horwitz was the winner. His record is now 7-1. The losing pitcher was Li-zhi Chung. Tommy Spezia closed out the game, earning his 23rd save.

Had Corey Grudzien not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Grudzien hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Black Bears.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Murraysville manager Joseph Kelley.

The Black Bears win now puts them at 47-33.
