Casino Grounds was the site of some high drama.

The Roaring River Steelheads earned a close win over the Carson City Mustang, thanks in part to Shoji Saito. The Roaring River right-hander, who is rated as the 32nd best prospect by BNN, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Saito got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run.

Roaring River got a knockout punch from Reilly Snow. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Every loss stings," said Carson City manager . "This one is no exception."

The Steelheads raised their record to 37-42.
