Bishops 5-2 Winners Versus Marysville
|
Though he had a terrific game, Ramon Aguirre could not prevent his team, the Marysville Monarchs, from absorbing a loss. Evanston won the game, 5-2. Aguirre went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Evanston reliever Nick Fortenberry picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Esteban Paulino was saddled with the loss. Marysville is in the throes of a losing streak which has reached 9 games.
Evanston used a well-timed hit by Wayne Keith to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bishops ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It's going to click," said Marysville manager Angel Gareia. "It's just a matter of when."
