Rams Score Late, Stun Beehive, 6-4
|
The Madison Beehive got a superb performance from first baseman Raul Martines, but the Frisco Rams still won the game, 6-4. Martines was named the player of the game despite the loss. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Earning his 5th save for Frisco was Billy Taylor. Frisco currently is in 4th place in the RCLAA Lou Piniella League at 38-39.
Frisco took a 6-4 lead on Danny Benitez's 9th home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Madison pitcher Connor Moody in the bottom of the eighth.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Benitez told the Frisco Gazette. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
