Boise Hawks starter Rick Keen was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Carson City Mustang, 3-2. Raul Parada was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 19 save opportunities. At 37-41, the Hawks find themselves in last place in the RCLAA Lou Piniella League.
In the bottom of the fifth, Boise catcher Luis de la Torre had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and two out, de la Torre stroked a run-scoring triple to right. It made the score 3-0, Boise. For the game, he was 1-3 with a triple and was hit by a pitch.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Carson City manager Bhim Varuni. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
