6-5 Beetlecats Win over Seagulls Evens Season Record
|
Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats starter Phil Jackson found his groove in his team's 6-5 win over the Clearwater Seagulls. The winner was Ryan Woller in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Dave Mendez took the loss. Earning his 11th save for Buzzard's Bay was Matt Williams.
Buzzard's Bay took a 5-4 lead on Joe Howser's 4th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Howser hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Clearwater pitcher Randy Sellman visibly frustrated.
"They had a good approach," Clearwater skipper Ayub Ndadaye said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."
Today's win puts Buzzard's Bay at 39-39, while Clearwater falls to 46-32.
