Valdez Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Silicon Valley
The Silicon Valley Hackers weathered an outstanding game by Kelowna designated hitter Alejandro Valdez to topple the Rockets, 5-4. Valdez went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Alex Caballero went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The left-hander struck out 3 and walked 2. With the win, he ups his record to 1-0 this season. Dave Foster was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.

It could have been a different outcome for Silicon Valley, had it not been for Dale Jordan, the 22-year old center fielder . Jordan contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Silicon Valley up, 3-1.

"It was a solid team effort," Jordan said. "That's usually what it takes to win."

Silicon Valley, at 42-24, is 3½ games up in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League.
